Aquarium Wet 2fdry Filters

The fry are raised on unicellular plankton (Euplotes & Brachionus are recommended). The young are fully developed in a month; which seems fast until you realize their full lifespan is but a year or two. Please see the references below if you are intent on breeding Gobiosoma.

My favorite species are Gobiosoma oceanops and Gobiosoma evelynae. These two are the most intensely captive bred and available, though many more should be along soon commercially.

No expensive, messy filter media your gravel/substrate is about it and this can be easily vacuumed (or for folks with reverse flow arrangements a twist of a well-placed drain valve) while doing your routine frequent partial water changes. Ahhh!

In Tank Models: Im not a big fan of these on two counts. After youve collected all that yucky gunk, you dont want to spill any back into your system; its smelly and probably more toxic than when it was collected. In-tank (and in-filter-sump) protein skimmers are just too easy to do this with to
