While these models are no longer available, having been supplanted by the 4-series units, I wanted to take a moment to discuss them because I actually preferred the older type to their newer brethren. In detailing what I liked about these versions, I hope to illustrate specifically why I dont care for the new line and what I wish had not been changed.

The 3-series

I just got these in! I've been waiting to see them. They are very nice well built reflectors. Not flimsy at all. Vented, and they include a nice heavy glass shield. They are available in a 150w version also if there is interest? I dont have too many right now-I wanted to get a look at them....

Icecap, lumenarc, reeflux... not working! help!!!
Ok, so I’m having troubles with my lighting. I have a Icecap 250watt ballast, a lumenarc reflector and a reeflux 10k bulb. Problem is, it’s not lighting up! The bulb will sometimes flicker once for a fraction of a second but then it’s out. I’m getting a little buzzing noise from the ballast when I first plug it in to the wall but after 5 minutes it st.
