Anyone use Quiet One 3000 or SEDRA 7000 submersible pumps?
Howdy, Anyone have any user feedback on these pumps? Reliable? Noisy? I'm looking for a potential replacement for a finicky and LOUD MAG7. This is for a Remora Pro by the way. Thanks!.

Although all of them performed flawlessly, my opinion would be based on the extremely limited experience. Based on Eheims excellent reputation among aquarists along with my own limited experience, I have recently purchased a new Eheim canister filter to experiment with on a tank that I am setting up for myself. This article will be updated in the future when I have enough experience with Eheim to give a more reliable review.

Until I experiment with a few more Eheims, I am going to fall back on the Hagen Fluval line, Marineland H.O.T. Magnum, or one of the many excellent hang-on power filters I discussed in my July/August Impressions column

The reasons for this are several and mostly obvious. The most important are:

1) To remove as much "other stuff" from the water so that the U.V. radiation will operate with highest efficiency.

2) Beneficial microbes will be preserved and their activity promoted.

Filters/Media:

I strongly encourage the use of polyester bagging of individual units of chemical filtrants, and the rotating out of some of the existing bags with the addition in of the new, rather than a complete change out.

hello again- Well my 90 gallon predator/reef tank has been up in running for about 7 months. Everything is running smoothly so far- water parameters are nitrate > 20 ppm, nitrite 0ppm, ammonia 0 ppm, pH 8.2, salinity 1.025, but phosphates are way to high it's about 5 ppm.
